ASEN MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
i. Professional Membership: Opened to only
specialist who have not less than M.Ed Sociology of
Education degree and shall
be able to vote and be voted for during the bi-annual election.
ii. Student Members: These are persons
currently registered for or pursuing studies at the
postgraduate level in the
Sociology of Education. These shall not be able to vote and the vote for the
bi-annual elections.
iii.Honorary Membership: These shall include
other educators, educationalists, and patrons of
education who have specialized
in education. They shall not vote or be voted for at the bi-annual
election.
iv. Fellowship: A fellow is a financial
member, who has contributed evidently to the growth of the
Association,
maintained a membership of not less than 10 years and has attained the status
of a
professor or Chief lecturer. Fellows shall be able to vote and be voted
for at the election.
a) Membership shall be valid upon
the consistent payment of membership dues and appropriate,
prescribed fees for
three consecutive years.
b) Membership shall be rendered
null and void if a member brings the name of the Association into
disrepute.The Association expects excellent social and professional behaviour from its
members. The
EXCO shall set up a disciplinary committee to try erring members.
